- major league records. Many of those marks
- remain today, including most runs scored in
- a career (2,245) and highest career batting
- average (.367). Few players have batted as
- high in a single season as Ty batted over his
- entire career! He ranks second all-time in
- hits (4,191) and triples (297) and fourth in
- games played (3,034), at-bats (11,429),
- doubles (724), and stolen bases (892).
- He held the records for most stolen
- bases in a season (96) and in a
